InSight Recovery & Wellness has been serving the greater Nashville area since 2017. InSight began as a weekly program with a holistic approach aimed at helping people with addiction achieve real and lasting change. In 2021, InSight expanded to a full-time operation with additional services.
Medical Director
Dr. Michael Ferri has more than fifteen years of experience working with patients who struggle with addiction. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, and Medical Director of two highly regarded residential treatment programs. He has published research on addiction treatment and is a regular teacher and contributor in the addiction treatment community. In 2017 he launched the InSight Recovery & Wellness program to offer a holistic approach to addiction treatment in the community setting.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Cayla Busuito received her bachelor’s degree from Bethel University and went straight to Nashville to begin working as a nurse at Vanderbilt. Her passion is within mental health and for multiple years she worked in Vanderbilt’s Psychiatric Hospital and Emergency Department. She received a Master’s Degree through Vanderbilt University. She loves exploring the city of Nashville and the surrounding areas. Her hobbies include enjoying time near any body of water and caring for her fur baby, Hendrix. She looks forward to meeting and providing the best care possible to all of her clients.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Bry York was born and raised in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Aquinas College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and later obtained her BSN through Austin Peay State University. She worked as an RN at Rolling Hills Hospital, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, for over 7 years, and The Next Door, an addiction treatment center for women, for 2 years. While continuing to work as an RN, she earned a PMHNP and graduated from Drexel University with a Master’s in Nursing.

Sam Burress received his Bachelor’s degree from Martin Methodist College in 2015. Sam has a background in Intensive Care and Emergency nursing, but quickly realized that his true passion was in psychiatric nursing. He worked in Centennial’s inpatient psychiatric hospital in various bedside and administrative roles for 6 years prior to attending Middle Tennessee State University to obtain a Master’s degree and PMHNP certification. He strives to provide excellent and compassionate care to all of his clients.

Jaanki Bhakta received her nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma. She moved to Nashville to attend graduate school at Belmont University, where she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2020. While studying to be a Family Nurse Practitioner, Jaanki worked as a Registered Nurse at an inpatient recovery center for 3 years. There she developed knowledge and experience on addiction medicine. Jaanki currently resides in Murfreesboro, TN with her husband. She enjoys football, trying new foods and spending time with family and friends.

Patient Care Coordinator
Jessica Villar was born and raised in Wichita, KS. She moved to TN in 1999 and graduated from Columbia State in 2017 with 2 Associates Degrees. She worked at Rolling Hills hospital for 12 years and has worked with Dr. Ferri as an MAT coordinator for 10 years. She also works at The Next Door as the MAT coordinator. She loves listening to country music, especially George Strait.
Therapist
Carla Porter has worked in healthcare industries for over a decade. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology from Lipscomb University in 2011, and later completed a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with specialized training in addiction. Carla joined the InSight team in 2022.
Her approach to counseling embodies a strong connection between patient and therapist, and she considers it a privilege to hear patients’ stories. Whether patients are dealing with mental illness or difficult life circumstances, Carla endeavors to remind them of their own ability to practice resilience and to achieve lasting change.
